Signs place Asheboro
with the big guys

With the opening of the western section of the Greensboro Urban Loop, Asheboro is finally playing with the big guys - at least in the signs. Traveling east on the new highway there are several signs with the mileage to Asheboro displayed prominently along side Burlington, Durham, and Raleigh. Drivers on the eastbound lanes of the new I-40/73 corridor should be well aware of the existence of the county seat of Randolph. The new highway provides better access for people traveling between the eastern and western areas of North Carolina.

Construction on the next section of the Greensboro Urban loop between US 70 and US 29 is scheduled to begin in 2013. The final section of the Urban Loop between Bryan Boulevard and US 29 is expected to begin construction in 2014.

Trinity Furniture is a member of the Archdale-Trinity Chamber of Commerce.

Trinity Furniture of Trinity, N.C., has been awarded a 2008 ThinkGlobal/ Commercial News USA Exporter of the Year award from ThinkGlobal Inc., publisher of Commercial News USA, the official export promotion magazine of the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Commercial News USA is a catalog-style magazine distributed to an estimated 400,000 readers in 176 countries worldwide. Awards are given to one U.S. company in each of 15 industry categories. Privately-held Trinity Furniture was named Exporter of the Year in the Consumer Goods category.

Winners were chosen based on the total number of documented export deals completed in 2006, total percentage increase in sales in 2006 compared to 2005, exports as percentage of total sales, the company’s commitment to exporting, the company's commitment to customer service, and the company’s innovation and originality in marketing products or services.

To be eligible for the award, the company must currently be exporting from the United States.

Trinity Furniture is a manufacturer of high end executive seating and table furniture. The company reported total export sales of $3.8 million in 2006, a 13.6% increase over 2005. Exports now represent 45.5% of the company's total sales.

Founded in 1984, Trinity Furniture began exporting since its inception. “Trinity Furniture is proud to accept this award,” said Jorge Lagueruela, president and CEO of Trinity Furniture. “We take great pride in our outstanding quality of workmanship and customer service. Our export program includes product designed for military housing projects within Asia and Europe.”

Gregory Sandler, publisher of Commercial News USA, said that Trinity Furniture's success is indicative of how American companies can benefit from exporting. “With 95% of the world's market outside the U.S., there is significant growth opportunity for American manufacturers and service providers. Current economic conditions-particularly the low value of the dollar-have made American products very appealing to foreign buyers. There is no better time than now for U.S. companies to export their goods and services.”

ASHEBORO - Karen Lemmons, registered nurse at Randolph Hospital, has been selected as one of the 30 nurses in North Carolina to attend the prestigious Institute for Nursing Excellence (INE). This week-long annual professional development program recognizes and rewards the best registered nurses in the state.

“Karen's continual drive to go above and beyond for her patients and co-workers has enabled her to be chosen for this program. This program will provide her with an excellent opportunity to enhance her leadership skills,” notes Tremonteo Crawford, chief nursing officer.

In order to be eligible for this event, those selected must be a full-time registered nurse in North Carolina, have five or more years experience and spend at least 50 percent of their time providing direct nursing care.

“I am honored to have been selected to attend this prestigious institute,” states Lemmons. “Not only do I look forward to learning new skills and networking with other nurses from across the state, but most importantly I am excited about being able to bring back the information and skills gained and share them with the entire nursing staff at Randolph Hospital.”
