Could you be chosen for the "Entrepreneur's Boot Camp"?
ARCHDALE, N.C. - Randolph County Community College (RCC) will hold the “Entrepreneur's Boot Camp” at the Archdale campus. The intense five-week training begins on July 10 and will provide an in- depth look into the personal skills, legal realities, preparation, and promotion involved in starting or buying an existing business. Fifteen applicants will be selected from those who apply.
Lonnie Hamm, business development specialist for the Randolph County Entrepreneurial Resource Center in Archdale, said that the idea for an entrepreneur's boot camp came about when the RCC Small Business Center was reviewing its statistics over the last few years. A pattern emerged showing that many of the individuals requesting training had reached mid-life.
Determined to serve this community, the Small Business Center worked on obtaining a grant to create the boot camp described by Hamm as “the first in the state aimed at mid-life workers in transition.”
Due to the limited seats available, applicants will be screened via interviews, skill assessments and references. Applicants will have to obligate to a 9:00a.m. to 3p.m., Monday through Friday training schedule.
Business experts will be brought in to discuss the basics with trainees as they work on developing plans. In addition, students will study the impact of technology on today’s businesses, especially the development of E-commerce.
